Key Features of the Internship Programme
The PPSHA 2025–2026 Internship is designed to provide graduates with comprehensive exposure to various functions within the healthcare administration sector.
Interns will gain hands-on experience in:
- Medical Aid Administration and Member Services
- Learn to handle medical aid correspondence and member subscriptions.
- Understand the claims submission and assessment processes.
- Engage in underwriting and the processing of new member applications.
- Clinical and Operational Support
- Support the clinical administration team and participate in health-related member activities.
- Ensure processes align with regulatory and compliance standards.
- Experience operational tasks that contribute to smooth healthcare plan management.
- Professional and Personal Development
- Receive mentorship from experienced professionals.
- Gain exposure to formative and summative assessments to track progress.

Minimum Requirements
Candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- South African citizenship, aged 18–35 years.
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 qualification (Essential).
- A completed 3-year Bachelor’s degree, National Diploma, or Honours in one of the following:
- Commerce / Accounting
- Information Technology
- Clinical Medical Associate
- BCur in Nursing (Bachelor of Nursing Science)
- Fluent in English, with additional South African languages considered an advantage.
- Present a professional image with strong administrative and time management skills.
- Unemployed and not currently enrolled in another internship or learnership.
- Basic computer literacy and the ability to perform under pressure.
